ISLAMABAD: Justice Muhammad Kareem Khan Agha on Saturday took oath as judge of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), established under the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
FCC Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan administered the oath to Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha as judge of the Constitutional Court in a ceremony held here in the Conference Room of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha is amongst the six judges who have been appointed as judges of the Federal Constitutional Court. Chief Justice Federal Constitutional Court Aminuddin Khan the other day, in the first phase, administered oath of offices to three judges of the Constitutional Court, including Justice Aamir Farooq, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi.
On Saturday, the oath-taking ceremony was attended by Constitutional Court Justices Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Aamir Farooq and Ali Baqar Najafi, as well as Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar.
Similarly, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Muhammad Asif, Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas, Advocate General Islamabad Ayaz Shaukat as well as office-bearers of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, judicial officers and others also attended the ceremony.
It was, however, learnt that Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz of the Islamabad High Court did not attend the ceremony.
It is pertinent to mention here that two judges —Justice Rozi Khan Bareech and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah — have yet to take their oaths as judges of the Federal Constitutional Court.
According to sources, four courtrooms of the Constitutional Court on the third floor of the Islamabad High Court building are in the preparation phase. For this purpose, the Advocate General’s Office and Attorney General’s Office have been temporarily vacated.
It was learnt that two courts of the Federal Constitutional Court will be established on the second floor wherein Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will sit in Courtroom One, while Courtroom Two is likely to be allocated to Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar.
Meanwhile, court roster for the Supreme Court judges was issued on Saturday for next week commencing Monday November 17 to Friday November 21, 2025.
As per details, eight benches will conduct hearings in cases at the Supreme Court Principal Seat Islamabad including Bench No 1 which comprised Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Bench No 2 comprised Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Bench 3 included Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Shahzad Ahmed Khan.
Similarly, Bench 4 comprised Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbassi while Bench 5 included Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Musarat Hilali.
Likewise, Bench 6 comprised Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb while Bench No 7 included Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Bench No 8 comprised Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim.
