KARACHI: Internationally acclaimed singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has announced that he will introduce the top three winners of Pakistan Idol to the global music scene through his own platform.
In an interview with Geo and Jang, he revealed his plans to take the winners on his world tour, providing them with an opportunity to perform on international stages. “My goal is to showcase Pakistan’s talent on the world stage,” said Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. “All they need is the ability to handle big platforms with confidence.”
Speaking about his son, he mentioned that he has fans across the world. Rahat emphasised that talent, while often hidden, requires refinement. “There are five to six contestants in Pakistan Idol who are completely natural,” he remarked.
Praising one contestant, Hira, he said, “She has been blessed with such a beautiful voice that she doesn’t even need formal training. With some guidance, she can go very far.”
He stressed that the judges evaluate performances purely on merit and acknowledge those who excel.
Discussing his music academy, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan shared that the project is in progress and will soon provide a platform where new talent can receive training and access major stages. “Promoting art and culture is our responsibility, and we must provide opportunities to the youth,” he added.
Rahat also noted that exceptional talent has emerged from smaller cities such as Faisalabad, Ghotki, and Layyah, including a young girl who delivered an outstanding performance despite suffering from dengue.
Speaking about his future plans, he reaffirmed his mission to introduce new singers internationally. “Performing without proper learning is like putting yourself to the test,” he said.
It is worth noting that the thrilling and highly competitive episodes of Pakistan Idol are currently being aired on Geo TV. The much-awaited Gala Round begins this Saturday. The 13th episode will be broadcast at 8:00 PM on Geo TV.
