Quetta LG polls on December 28

QUETTA: The process for local government (LG) elections in Quetta began on Monday, with nomination papers being accepted from November 13 to 17, 2025, by the respective returning officers.

The elections will be held across 172 union councils and 641 wards of Quetta city, and preparations for the December polls have already commenced.

Public notices have been displayed outside the offices of the returning

and district returning officers.

According to the schedule, the submission and issuance of nomination papers will take place from November 13 to 17, while the list of nominated candidates will be published on November 18.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted between November 19 and 24, and appeals against approval or rejection can be filed until November 28.

The Appellate Tribunal will announce its decisions on appeals by December 3, after which the revised list of candidates will be published on December 4.

Following any withdrawals, the final list of candidates and election symbols will be issued on December 6, while polling is scheduled for Sunday, December 28.
