Kate Hudson has recently broken her silence on Oscar buzz for her new movie, Song Sung Blue.
The American actress reveals what she thinks of her movie earning praise after its premiere at the American Film Institute Festival.
On November 4, Kate tells PEOPLE at the Academy and Chanel Women’s Luncheon that she’s “really excited” about her movie receiving rave reviews.
The actress, who plays a significant role in the upcoming movie, marks her return to the Oscar discussion.
However, the Running Point actress mentions, “I've been around now long enough to know just to enjoy that people are really loving the movie.”
“And just, you know, show up to where they tell me to go,” remarks the 46-year-old.
This is not the first time that Kate came close to winning an Oscar. Back in 2001, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Penny Lane in Almost Famous at the 73rd Academy Awards.
Interestingly, Kate won a Golden Globe for her performance the same year.
Elsewhere in her chat, the actress, who stars alongside Hugh Jackman in the new movie, is hopeful that people see Song Sung Blue, which will release in theatres on December 25.
“I'm really looking forward to right now, is that I really want the movie to have the success that I think it deserves and because I want people to make more movies like this,” explains Kate.
Fool’s Gold actress adds, “If we can have success at the movie theatre with this movie, I hope it makes other people want to make more movies like this.”
Meanwhile, Craig Brewer has written and directed the movie whereas Greg Kohn serves as its executive producer.
