ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka Tuesday extended the bail of PTI founder Imran Khan in cases of May 9 incidents, attempted murder and fake receipts, and prevented the authorities concerned from arresting Bushra Bibi until November 25.
The judge extended the pre-arrest bail and directed that the PTI founder be produced in court or through video link in the next hearing.
The judge adjourned the hearing, expressing displeasure over the Adiala Jail authorities’ failure to submit a response to the show cause notice. Shamsa Kayani Advocate appeared on behalf of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
In another case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued arrest warrants for absent accused in five different cases filed against PTI leaders and workers and adjourned the hearing till November 17. PTI MPA Malik Liaquat Ali and Anwar Zeb Khan filed applications for exemption from attendance.
The arrest warrants were issued for absent accused in case number 906 of Kohsar police station, while copies of challans were provided to the accused appearing in case number 909 of the same police station.
The court announced that the accused will be indicted in the next hearing.
Hearing was also held in a case registered against PTI workers and government employees for escaping from police custody. The court adjourned further proceedings after the presence of the accused.
On the other hand, seven accused appeared in the court in case number 754 of Sangjani police station, while arrest warrants were issued for the absent accused.
