RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo.

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations, reaffirming the enduring friendship between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The COAS praised the Egyptian leadership for its pivotal role in promoting peace and stability in the region, while President el-Sisi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s positive and proactive contributions to matters of significance for the world and the Ummah. Both leaders emphasised the importance of coordination on issues of mutual strategic interest and the need to strengthen people-to-people contacts.

The meeting acknowledged the shared history of cordial ties and a mutual desire to deepen cooperation across all domains, particularly socio-economic engagement, technology and security matters.

The discussion concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing confidence that enhanced economic and security dialogue would significantly contribute to peace, stability and security in Pakistan, Egypt and the broader region.
