RAWALPINDI: Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has ordered for seizure of the identity card and passport of Aleema Khanum, the sister of former chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and freezing of her all bank accounts after confiscating the bail bonds in the case registered at Sadiqabad police station over violent protest of the party on Nov 26, 2024.
The court issued written instructions to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) chairman and the FIA Immigration director general to block the identity card and passport of the accused, while a letter has been issued to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) governor to immediately freeze all bank accounts of the accused in any bank so that the presence of the accused in court could be ensured.
Despite issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant during the hearing on Thursday, Aleema Khanum did not appear in the court nor was her lawyer present in the court, while the other 10 accused named in the case were present in the court.
