ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja dismissed the ongoing PMLN and PPP feud as a “fixed fight” that will soon resolve. He firmly ruled out forming a government with the PPP but expressed PTI’s willingness to support a no-confidence motion against the current federal government.

Speaking outside the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Raja clarified that PTI founder Imran Khan does not support a coalition with PPP, focusing instead on challenging the government’s stability. Raja clarified that PTI founder Imran Khan does not approve of governing alongside PPP.

Addressing select opposition leaders, alongside senior PTI leader Babar Awan, Raja addressed concerns about the potential arrest of Aleema Khan. He explained that Imran Khan has restricted Aleema from delivering his messages to the party to minimize her risk of arrest and said another sister would be designated to convey Imran Khan’s instructions to PTI members if necessary.

Raja noted differing opinions within the PTI but confirmed Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas as Imran Khan’s choices for Senate and National Assembly opposition leaders, respectively. He dismissed punishments in the Toshakhana II case as “political” and unacceptable. Raja condemned the jail trial’s initial shift as an attempt to isolate Imran Khan. On the PTI’s Peshawar rally last month, Raja said the party awaits the fact-finding committee’s report and declined further comment. He noted Imran Khan’s directive to firmly oppose the 26th Amendment that has weakened the judiciary. He praised the approval of their request for live-stream hearings. “The founder has ordered us not to back down on the issue of judiciary,” he affirmed.
