QUETTA: Train service from Balochistan to the rest of the country will remain suspended for three more days, Divisional Superintendent Railways Imran Hayat confirmed on Thursday.

He said efforts were being made to restore the Quetta-bound service within three days, as a railway bridge and track were badly damaged after Jaffar Express derailed in Mastung’s Dasht area on September 23 due to an explosion. Several passengers had sustained minor injuries in the incident.

According to Hayat, repairs of the bridge would require two to three days, but the department was working to minimize the disruption.
