ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Sindh for the PPP’s overwhelming success in the recent local bodies by-elections, and extended warm congratulations to the newly elected representatives.

He also paid glowing tribute to the jiyalas for their tireless dedication and unwavering commitment that made this victory possible. The PPP chairman, reacting to the results of the by-elections across 14 districts of Sindh, said: “From Karachi to Kashmore, the people have once again reposed their unshakable trust in the PPP through their votes.”

He further said this victory is a living testament to the eternal bond between the people and the party of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Chairman Bilawal said the wholehearted support shown in these by-elections has further strengthened the PPP’s resolve to serve the people with even greater passion, sincerity, and determination. He said every vote cast for the PPP is a vote for democracy, for the protection of the rights of the common man, and for the vision of a progressive, inclusive, and prosperous Pakistan.

Reiterating his commitment, he said the PPP will continue its struggle to strengthen the local government system and to advance development in every neighborhood, every village, and every city.

Bilawal noted that in Sindh, a strong and empowered local government system has proven to be a fair and effective mechanism for the equitable distribution of resources and authority at the grassroots level, serving as a guarantee of sustainable development.

He said the PPP’s vision for local governance stands as a model for other provinces to emulate. Highlighting the contrast, he said the people of Punjab — the country’s most populous province — have long been denied the benefits of an empowered local government system.

He added that if elected local bodies were functional in Punjab today, the process of impartial relief for flood victims would not have faced unnecessary obstacles. Chairman Bilawal appealed to all political parties and citizens, urging them to join hands in building a Pakistan where democracy thrives and every citizen can live with dignity, equality, and respect.
