ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said strict action will be taken against those who attempt to hurt the state through violence.

He was addressing members of the Supreme Court Bar Association at the Supreme Court building here on Wednesday. He said the image of Balochistan presented in Islamabad over the past 30 to 40 years was contrary to reality, adding that the narrative presented in Islamabad was merely a perception, not the real truth. The government has made clear amendments to the law to resolve the issue of enforced disappearances. A misleading narrative about Balochistan distorts the truth before the world, and linking violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan with Baloch identity is incorrect. Presenting the situation in Balochistan before the Supreme Court Bar Association is a matter of pride for him, and he had wished to discuss the sensitive matters of Balochistan in a closed-door session. He emphasized that every citizen of Pakistan has the constitutional right to protest, but blocking roads is wrong. Blocking routes and letting patients in ambulances die is cruelty, and this method of protest is unacceptable. On missing persons, he said his government has decided to resolve this matter and made clear amendments to the law. If someone is detained on suspicion, legal action will be taken, and every detained person will be medically checked once a week. Later, he announced a grant of 100 million rupees for the Supreme Court Bar Association.
