Imran’s family, party members again denied access to Adiala jail

RAWALPINDI: The former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s family and a large number of his party members were allegedly denied permission to meet him at Adiala Jail here on Tuesday.

The group, including Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan, and Dr Uzma Khan were stopped at the Dahgal checkpoint and turned away.

In addition to his family, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf delegation comprising workers and elected members from the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies were also stopped at the Dahgal checkpoint from going ahead.

They included Barrister Salman Akram Raja, Colonel (retd) Ajmal Sabir, and numerous provincial assembly members, including Moin Qureshi, Ahsan Raza, Tanveer Ahmed Gondal, Javed Kosar, and others. Imran Khan’s focal person, Niazullah Khan Niazi Advocate, and other party associates, including Zafar Gondal, Sameer Khosa, and Umair Khan Niazi were also denied.

The reason for the denial of access has not been officially announced.
