ISLAMABAD: Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti issued non-bailable arrest warrant for former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail during the hearing of the Azadi March case against PTI leaders.

The magistrate ordered that Imran Ismail be arrested and produced before the court. Imran Ismail is accused in the case registered at Bara Kahu police station. It may be noted that several other leaders, including the founder of PTI, have already been acquitted in the case. However, the court ruled that Imran Ismail’s appearance is mandatory, and he must be arrested and produced at the next hearing.

In a separate case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued a bailable arrest warrant for PTI leader and former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser in the Judicial Complex attack case, ordering his arrest and production in court.

During the hearing, the court accepted applications for exemption from appearance by PTI leaders Pervaiz Elahi, Asad Umar, and Shibli Faraz. Advocate Sardar Muhammad Razaq appeared on behalf of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, while other PTI leaders were represented by Sardar Muhammad Shubhishek Khan, Amina Ali, and other lawyers.

The court was informed that no reply has been received to the letter sent to the Law Ministry regarding the founder of PTI. It should be noted that a case has been registered against PTI leaders at the CTD police station. The court adjourned the hearing until October 6.
