ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to relocate the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters from Peshawar to Islamabad.
This move aims to modernize and enhance the force’s effectiveness, a spokesman of the Interior Ministry said Saturday. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters where he directed officials to identify suitable land for the FC Headquarters in the federal capital. The meeting, which was also attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, saw the minister call for a master plan for the new facility.
Naqvi emphasized that the land selection process must prioritize the specific needs of the headquarters and its training facilities. “We want to establish the Federal Constabulary on modern lines, transforming it into a disciplined and highly effective force,” he stated.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including federal secretary of interior, commandant and deputy commandant Federal Constabulary, chairman CDA, IGP Islamabad and DC Islamabad.
