Rawalpindi : The District Prosecution Branch has submitted a challan to the court in the case of the murder of a young married woman in the area of Pirwadhai police station on the orders of the jirga, while District Public Prosecutor has also announced a 4-member special team to follow the case.
However, due to the leave of Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Abid Rizwan Abid, the hearing of the case has been postponed until September 15 without any action. In the challan of the case, 9 accused arrested have been declared guilty according to their separate roles.
A 4-member team consisting of senior government lawyers has also been formed to follow the case. District Public Prosecutor Inam Rahim will head the team, while Deputy District Public Prosecutor Rehman Shaukat Bhatti, Tariq Shahzad and Assistant District Public Prosecutor Sanaullah will assist in the committee.
It should be remembered that the deceased Sidra Arab was killed on the night of July 16 and 17 this year and buried in a local cemetery, after which the grave marks were also erased.
The case challan was completed last month and sent to the ADPP, while the District Prosecution Branch approved the challan yesterday, which was presented in court on Saturday.
In this case, the head of the nominated jirga, Ismatullah, the husband of the victim, Zia-ur-Rehman, father Arab Gul, brother Zafar, father-in-law Salim Gul, the uncle of the victim, Mani Gul, gravedigger of the cemetery Rashid Mahmood, member of the cemetery committee, Saif-ur-Rehman, and the rickshaw driver were arrested and are in Adiala Jail on judicial remand.
