RAWALPINDI: Six soldiers of Pakistan Army and Federal Constabulary (FC) were martyred, while five terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij were eliminated during a foiled coward attack on FC Headquarters in Bannu district on Tuesday.
In a cowardly terrorist attack during the early hours of Tuesday, the Indian sponsored Khwarij attempted to breach the facility’s perimeter security, however, their nefarious designs were swiftly foiled by the vigilant and resolute response by own troops, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In their desperation, the Khwarij rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall, it said, adding the suicide blast resulted in the partial collapse of the perimeter wall and damage to adjacent civilian infrastructure inflicting injuries to three innocent civilians.
“Displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, own troops engaged the Kharjis with precision and eliminated all five khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij. However, in this intense exchange of fire, six brave soldiers belonging to Federal Constabulary and Pakistan Army, after putting up a heroic fight, embraced martyrdom in the line of duty,” the ISPR said.
The clearance operation in the area would continue and perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice, it added.
“The security forces of Pakistan in step with nation remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate Indian sponsored terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further strengthen our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs,” the military’s media wing said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for killing six terrorists in a counter-operation following the attack by Indian-sponsored Fitna Khawarij on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu district.
The prime minister expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of six personnel of the Federal Constabulary and Pakistan Army in the encounter. “We stand with the families of the martyrs in this hour of difficulty and share their grief equally,” he said. Reaffirming the government’s resolve, he declared, “We will continue the fight against the menace of terrorism until it is completely eradicated from the country.”
