LAHORE: Rains and floods have hit supply of vegetables and fruits, besides affecting their quality across the province. Shortage of some vegetables were also seen in the markets as the sellers said that number of vegetables were not available in markets as well. Following the shortage, the rates of majority of vegetables have increased besides the overcharging by the sellers.
Since all the government agencies and authorities are busy in the flood rescue and relief activities which has given a free hand to the seller to charge their will price from the buyers without any fear of check from the price magistrates.
This week prices of chicken was remained unchanged for live chicken at Rs397-411 per kg, while the seller charged Rs500-530 per kg, and chicken meat at Rs595 per kilogram, while the sellers sold it at Rs650-750 per kg and chicken boneless at Rs1100-1200 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin A-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, B-grade at Rs70-75 per kg and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kg, mixed sold at Rs120-130 per kg. The price of potato sugar free A-grade fixed Rs55-60, B-grade 45-50 and C-grade at Rs35-40 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade was fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg, B-grade at Rs55-60 per kg, and C-grade at Rs45-50 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade further gained by 20 per kg, fixed at Rs110-120 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs90-100 per kg, and C-grade at Rs73-80 per kg, mixed sold at Rs130-150 per kg.
The price of garlic local new fixed Rs205-215 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, Garlic Harani further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs282-295 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
The price of Ginger Tahi was fixed at Rs442-465 per kg, Ginger China gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at 395-415 per kg, both sold at Rs600-700 per kg.
Cucumber Farm was increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, farm sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
Brinjal price was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs114-120 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
Biter gourd increased by Rs140 at Rs267-280 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.
The price Spinach reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 at Rs80-100 per kg.
Zucchini local gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg.
The lemon local reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg, lemon China at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg.
Pumpkin was gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs114-120 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.
Sweet pumpkin unchanged at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.
Lady finger was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs250-260 per kg.
Arum was increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.
Luffa was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs114-120 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Green chili unchanged at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.
Capsicum price gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs162-170 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.
Price of cauliflower further gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs142-150 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, and cabbage fixed at 105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Carrot Chinese reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs133-140 per kg, sold at Rs220-250 per kg. Pea price unchanged at Rs229-240 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs400 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs100 per bundle. This week price of only one variety of apples was unchanged at Rs170-305 per kg, sold at Rs200-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category unchanged at Rs197-220 per dozen, sold at Rs250-300 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs134-150 dozen, sold at Rs200 per dozen. C-grade was fixed at Rs90-100 per dozen, sold at Rs120-150 per dozen.
Guava price unchanged at Rs205-215 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.
Dates gained unchanged at Rs470-500 per kg, sold at Rs900 to 2000 per kg.
Cantaloupe gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs172-180 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.
Peach was unchanged at Rs180-310 per kg, sold at Ra 250-400 per kg.
Apricot white was further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs325-340 per kg, sold at Rs350-450 per kg.
Mangoes of the different varieties gained by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs210-310 per kg, sold at Rs200-450 per kg.
Plump was unchanged at Rs185-340 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg.
Grapes gola white unchanged at Rs295-310 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, grapes sundarkhani further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs440-460 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg. Sweet Fruit was unchanged at Rs220-230 per dozen, sold at Rs280-350 per dozen. Peer was unchanged at Rs267-280 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.
Pomegranate local unchanged at Rs296-310 per kg, sold at Rs300-400 per kg.
Persimmon was fixed at Rs168-175 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.
