QUETTA: More than 30,000 undocumented Afghan nationals have been repatriated from Quetta division through joint operations conducted by the police, Frontier Corps (FC), and the district administration.
The figure was disclosed during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Quetta Division, Shahzeb Khan Kakar, to review the ongoing crackdown against undocumented Afghan residents. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Meharullah Badini, Assistant Commissioner Political Quetta Division Kaleemullah, and representatives from the police, FIA, NADRA, Special Branch, PTA, Home Department, and other relevant agencies. Deputy commissioners of Qila Abdullah and Pishin, along with the SP Pishin, participated online.
Officials reported that inter-agency coordination had been enhanced to accelerate the operation. The commissioner directed the compilation of comprehensive data on all undocumented migrants and individuals on the Afghan Citizens Card (ACC) list to streamline enforcement measures.
Daily operations were ordered, with instructions to gather records of illegal residents’ bank accounts and mobile SIMs. The commissioner stressed involving local elders and community leaders to ensure the process remains peaceful.
He also instructed that special care be taken for women and children during the operation, and urged all departments to work in close consultation to develop an effective strategy ensuring the complete repatriation of all illegal residents.
