7 of Buner family die in Saudi Arabia road mishap

DAGGAR: Seven members of a family, including four children, hailing from Dagai Totalai in Khadukhel tehsil in Buner district lost their lives and six others seriously injured in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia during Umrah.

According to reports, Haji Israr Ahmad and his family, including women and children, had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. While travelling from the Haram Sharif to Arafat for pilgrimage, their vehicle met with a fatal road accident.

As a result, Haji Israr Ahmad, his wife, son Dr Khalid Ahmad, wife and son of Ayaz Ahmad, two daughters of Dr Khalid Ahmad died on the post.

Six other members of the same family sustained serious injuries and were admitted to local hospitals in Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

Family sources confirmed that funeral prayers for the deceased were offered in Saudi Arabia. The news of the incident spread rapidly in the Buner, plunging the area into mourning.

Meanwhile, political figures, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and lawmaker from Buner Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, provincial Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan, Awami National Party leader Sardar Hussain Babak and others, have expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the tragedy.
