71 individuals to receive civil awards for bravery, courage

ISLAMABAD: The government has officially approved the nomination of 71 individuals for various civil awards, recognising their exceptional bravery and courage in safeguarding the nation and its interests.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting at the Cabinet Division on Thursday, where this significant decision was made.

The minister underscored the profound significance of honouring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who have demonstrated extraordinary valour.

“Encouraging those who have laid down their lives for the protection of the nation and those who have demonstrated extraordinary bravery is extremely important,” he stated.

“These individuals have rendered unparalleled service to the country without regard for their own lives. The nation will always remain grateful to these brave sons.”

He further emphasised the lasting legacy of these heroes, adding, “The martyrs of our homeland are the crown of our heads, and their eternal sacrifices will always be remembered.

The veterans (Ghazis) are heroes of the nation, and everyone takes pride in their courage. The sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans will never be allowed to go in vain.”

The meeting, which focused on reviewing nominations for civil awards recognising acts of courage and valour in national protection, saw the participation of key officials.

Attendees included the Special Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary Cabinet Division, Deputy DG Intelligence Bureau, and other senior officials. Additional Chief Secretaries and Home Secretaries from all provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, also joined the crucial discussions via Zoom.
