Queen Camilla has finally made an emotional admission about her key honour, revealing her feelings about the prestigious role.
King Charles III's wife sparked surprise with shocking confession after receiving a QNIS badge at a reception on Wednesday, saying: "She feels 'undeserving' of a prestigious role."
The Queen became the sixth Royal Patron of the Queen's Nursing Institute in May 2024.
The 77-year-old went on: "I feel very undeserving of this award, especially having spoken to so many of you, seeing how much you do, for so many things."
The details of the visit shared by the royal family on their official Instagram account with the Queen's photos.
Erica Reid, QNIS chair, presented the badge to Camilla at the conclusion of the event. The reception marked the royal's first official engagement with QNIS since her appointment as patron.
The Queen admired the workers and their contribution to the cause close to her heart as she hosted the reception for the charity, meeting current and former nurses, supporters and volunteers responsible for delivering the organisation's work across Scotland.
The charity, established in 1889, provided professional development opportunities for the nation's community nurses and midwives. The organisation supports healthcare professionals in working collaboratively with patients to address health inequalities.
The institute originally organised training for District Nurses throughout Scotland until the late 1960s, enabling them to care for people in their homes and communities.
