BANNU – A tragic and violent clash between two rival groups in the Khadri Mamandkhel area, within the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station, resulted in the death of six individuals and left three others, including a woman, injured. The incident unfolded when armed confrontation broke out between the Atlas Khan and Sher Wali families.
From one side, four individuals — Ibrahim (son of Najeeb), Abid (son of Saifullah), Samiullah (son of Mah Buraaz), and later Sabghatullah (son of Muhammad Daraz) — were killed, while Najeebullah (son of Mah Buraaz) and Syed Alam (son of Saifullah) sustained injuries.
From the opposing group, two brothers — Noor Shah Alam and Shah Buraaz (sons of Nooradeen) — lost their lives, and one woman was reported injured.A case was registered on the complaint of Zahidullah (son of Sher Wali Khan), a resident of Khadri Mamandkhel.
He told police that they were digging soil for a water irrigation channel when Shah Buraaz and Shah Alam (sons of Hataylay) arrived unarmed and tried to stop them, leading to a scuffle.Soon after, Atlas Khan, Habibur Rehman alias Bateeri (sons of Hataylay), Zubair, and Mamoor Khan — all residents of Khadri Mamandkhel — arrived armed and opened fire on them.
Zahidullah stated that an ongoing land dispute was the root cause of the conflict.On the other hand, the wife of Faraz (from the second group) told police that they were harvesting okra on their land when the suspects — Sher Wali and Najeebullah (sons of Mah Buraaz), Bakhtullah, Sabghatullah (sons of Muhammad Daraz), Syed Alam (son of Saifullah), and five unidentified assailants — arrived and, following an altercation with her uncles, opened indiscriminate fire. She also cited a property dispute as the motive behind the attack.Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene and shifted the deceased and injured to the hospital.
