Edhi Foundation Chairman Faisal Edhi has praised the extraordinary humanitarian services rendered by the late prime minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto during her life.

Speaking at a ceremony held by the PPP’s District South chapter to mark Benazir’s birthday, Edhi said her life and struggle served as a role model not just for Pakistanis but also for the entire world. He recalled that she had rendered untiring humanitarian services until her last breath.

He also recalled that during his life, the late Abdul Sattar Edhi had organised birthday celebrations for Benazir at the Edhi Home in Kharadar every year, featuring ceremonial cake cutting by the late founder of the Edhi Foundation. He greeted all the PPP’s workers and supporters on the birthday of their leader.

PPP District South President Jawed Nagori said on the occasion that no other Pakistani politician can match Benazir’s exemplary show of patriotism and humanitarian service. Nagori also praised Pakistan’s armed forces for defending the geographical frontiers of the country against the recent brazen military aggression of India. He said that following in the footsteps of his mother Benazir, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphatically pleaded Pakistan’s case before the world while heading a diplomatic mission sent to different countries.

He said the PPP chief successfully conveyed Pakistan’s message of peace, stability, reconciliation and non-aggression on the diplomatic front. The international community fully recognised and acknowledged Pakistan’s viewpoint on the Kashmir issue, and regional peace and stability, he added.
