Sindh acting governor Syed Awais Qadir Shah on Tuesday formally inaugurated the 1,295th annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) by laying a ceremonial chador.

Auqaf Chief Administrator Farukh Shehzad Qureshi welcomed the acting governor upon his arrival. Shah recited Fateha and offered special prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the nation. He also interacted with devotees and reviewed the arrangements made for them.

Speaking at the event, acting governor Shah said that the teachings of the saints are a source of humanity, peace, brotherhood, and spiritual purification.

Great Sufi saints like Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) promoted love, tolerance, and unity in society through their teachings and character. In today’s age, following their path is a collective need, he remarked.

He further said that the Sindh government considers providing facilities to the devotees visiting the shrines of saints as a top priority. The Department of Auqaf and other relevant institutions are constantly working to provide a better, safe, and dignified environment for the visitors.

He stated that the Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) is a spiritual gathering that unites people from different schools of thought. Moreover, Sindh is the land of Sufis, dervishes, and people of heart, where the values of love, tolerance, and public service have always flourished, he said.
