RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed five Khwarij belonging to an Indian proxy in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the last two days.

On June 15 and 16, five Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna al Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.

An intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in Peshawar District, on reported presence of Indian-sponsored Khwarij. During the IBO, troops skillfully surrounded and effectively engaged the Indian-sponsored Khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian-sponsored Khwarij, including Kharji Haris and Kharji Baseer, were sent to hell.

The other IBO was conducted in North Waziristan District and in ensuing fire exchange, one more Kharji was neutralised by the security forces.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the Indian-sponsored killed Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas.

Sensitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, the ISPR concluded.
