BANNU: A lawyer was killed when a man’s pistol went off “accidently” at a milk shop on Bannu-Kohat Road near Nizam Bazaar in the jurisdiction of Basyakhel Police Station.

Shakil Khan Burki, the brother of the slain lawyer, told the police that his brother Tufail Barki Advocate, who was the district vice president of Malgari Wakeelan (lawyers wing of ANP), lost his life after sustaining critical injuries in the incident.

He said that his brother was present at the milk shop when a pistol allegedly fell and discharged, injuring his brother. The injured was taken to a hospital where he died.

Shakeel Khan Barki said that the shooting was not a result of personal enmity or targeted attack. Instead, it was caused by the negligence.

The pistol, belonging to a man identified as Musawir, son of Saadullah, a resident of Bozakhel, reportedly fell and went off unintentionally, fatally wounding the lawyer.
