PESHAWAR: PTI leader MNA Asad Qaiser on Thursday said that his party would launch a decisive movement for the rule of law and release of PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan after Eidul Azha.
Talking to reporters after appearing in the Peshawar High Court, her said that politically motivated cases were being filed against him and other PTI leaders.
“A person with 17 seats has been made prime minister, while those who won 70 percent of the seats are in jail,” he remarked. He also criticized the judiciary’s current situation, alleging that the outcome of the Supreme Court’s case on reserved seats was already known. Asad Qaiser claimed that the government was mulling the 27th Constitutional Amendment to bring the judiciary under the executive.
“We demand fair treatment for the PTI founder under the law. We stand with him and will take our case to the public,” he vowed, announcing plans for a post-Eid campaign for constitutional supremacy in collaboration with allied parties. Earlier, the PHC extended the protective bail of Asad Qaiser and directed authorities concerned to refrain from arresting him.
