A man was killed and two others wounded in a firing incident in the North Nazimabad area on Saturday.

The incident took place in North Nazimabad Block B near the Bismillah Masjid in Khandu Goth. As a result of the firing, one person was killed and two others, including a minor boy, were injured.

The victims were bystanders caught in the firing over a personal dispute.

According to police, 23-year-old Osama, son of Nasir, succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to the hospital. The injured persons included Jamil, 37, son of Mian Jan, and eight-year-old Shayan Ahmad, son of Azam.

The altercation reportedly stemmed from a property dispute between two brothers, Zafar and Asim. During the heated argument, Zafar opened fire discharging at least six rounds.

None of the parties involved in the dispute were injured; however, three innocent bystanders were hit.

Zafar, who is said to be a drug addict, fled the scene after the shooting. Police have launched a search and are conducting raids to apprehend him.

The body and the injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Further investigations are under way.
