Islamabad: In a historic move for Pakistan’s cultural and performing arts landscape, the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), in partnership with the Embassy of Romania, launched the country’s first-ever Opera Singing Courses today at the PNCA headquarters in Islamabad. This pioneering initiative marks a transformative chapter in Pakistan’s arts education and cultural diplomacy.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by two chief guests: Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, and Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan.

Applauding the initiative, Ms. Akbar called it a “visionary step” and underscored the importance of international collaborations in cultivating artistic talent and enriching Pakistan’s cultural landscape. Stoenescu echoed these sentiments, emphasising music’s power to transcend borders. In a significant announcement, he introduced a scholarship program for Pakistani music students to pursue advanced studies in Romania, opening new doors for emerging artists.
