Night traffic patrolling launched

LAHORE:To ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance road safety ahead of Eidul Azha, Lahore Traffic Police has launched night patrolling across all 44 traffic sectors of the city.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed announced the initiative, stating that inspectors in charge, along with their respective teams, will be deployed during night shifts to monitor and regulate vehicular movement. Patrolling vehicles will remain active throughout the night and are subject to on-the-spot inspections by senior officials. “In addition to maintaining order, the patrolling teams have been directed to check for e-challan defaulters during traffic stops,” said Dr Waheed.

Rs3.782m for cops’ children treatment

Punjab Police Thursday released Rs3.782million for medical treatment of cops’ children suffering from serious illnesses across the province. According to a police spokesperson, Constable Muhammad Abu Bakar received Rs1.66million for his son’s cochlear implant surgery, Constable Ijaz Rasool was given Rs 725,000 for his daughter’s multiple surgeries. Several other cops, including retired ASI Amir Maqsood, Sub-Inspector Nasir Ahmad, and Head Constable Ehtisham-ul-Haq also received financial assistance for their children’s treatment.

52,357 avail policing services in week

Some 52,357 citizens availed various policing services from Punjab Police’s Khidmat Marakaz over the past week. According to a police spokesperson, some 17,583 citizens obtained police verification reports, 15,375 character certificates, 1,498 registered lost documents, and 5,358 got tenancy registration papers reports. The spokesperson maintained that so far this year, over 1.484 million citizens have benefited from the centres.
