RAWALPINDI: A British High Commission delegation Thursday visited the Adiala Jail to meet with a British citizen of Pakistan origin currently serving a sentence.
According to highly placed prison sources, the three-member delegation, comprising Ms. Lalin, Ms. Sunaina, and security officer Saqib Abbasi, arrived at the central jail earlier in the day.
The prison administration granted the delegation consular access to the incarcerated individual, identified as Mr. Ali Hasan.
Sources in the jail said the meeting between the British delegation and Mr. Hasan took place in the deputy superintendent’s office.
The delegation reportedly inquired about the facilities being provided to Mr. Hasan, his health and any ongoing legal matters.
This consular visit underscores the British High Commission’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of its citizens abroad, even those facing judicial processes in other countries.
