The Sindh Rangers and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh police conducted a joint operation based on intelligence and arrested three highly wanted terrorists in the Mehran Town area of District Korangi.
The arrested men were identified as Naimatullah, alias Abid, Noor, alias Mani, and Sabirullah, alias Daniyal, all affiliated with the Fitna al-Khawarij. During the operation, weapons, ammunition and explosive material were seized from their possession.
A spokesperson for the Rangers revealed that the suspects had links with Fitna al-Khawarij's commander Roman Rais and the Islam Din group. The suspects were trained militants and sent to Karachi by their commanders for extortion, target killings and terrorist attacks on security forces.
Naimatullah reportedly confessed to being an active member of the Fitna al-Khawarij during interrogation. According to the paramilitary force, he revealed that he joined the group in 2018 under Mufti Noor Wali's faction. He received military training in the Afghan city of Barmal and was involved in numerous military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Waziristan.
In 2019, he was arrested for his involvement in a terrorist activity in Wana, Waziristan, and spent time in jail. After his release, Naimatullah became active again, and in 2021, he was re-arrested in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Following another brief stint in jail, he rejoined the Fitna al-Khawarij under commander Islam Din's faction and arrived in Karachi to carry out terrorist activities.
Noor reportedly disclosed that he joined Islam Din's group in 2022. He, along with his associates, was planning extortion, target killings and terrorism in Karachi under the direction of commanders Roman Rais and Islam Din.
Noor stated that he had also conducted surveillance of key locations and sent this information to Islam Din, who had sent funds to the militants. The arrested terrorist was in direct contact with Islam Din and was actively planning terrorist activities in Karachi.
The third arrested man, Sabirullah, revealed that he joined the Fitna al-Khawarij’s Mufti Noor Wali faction in 2018 and had been actively spreading videos and images of the group’s operations on social media, said the Rangers. In 2024, he rejoined Islam Din's faction and, under Islam Din’s orders, arrived in Karachi to plan terrorist attacks.
Sabirullah was in direct contact with Islam Din and coordinating attacks in Karachi. The arrested militants, along with weapons and ammunition, have been handed over to the police for the initiation of legal proceedings.
The Rangers have appealed to the public to report information about such elements by contacting the nearest Rangers checkpoint, Rangers Helpline or via WhatsApp. The informant's identity will be kept confidential.
