QUETTA: Four men from Punjab were shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Gulangoor area of Nushki district, Balochistan, officials said on Tuesday.
According to Levies, the bodies were recovered from Gulangoor and shifted to the hospital. The victims were identified as Moin, Huzaifa, Imran Ali, and Irfan Ali — all residents of various districts in Punjab.
Levies officials revealed that the men had been abducted two days earlier from the Bato area of Nushki and were later killed by gunfire. After completing legal formalities, the bodies were sent to their respective hometowns. An investigation has been launched, and further action is underway.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind strongly condemned the killings, describing the incident as “barbaric and deeply tragic.”
In a statement, Rind said, “Those behind such heinous acts — enemies of peace — will not be spared. The provincial government is utilizing all available resources to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.” Rind also extended condolences to the victims’ families and assured them that justice would be served.
Highlighting that the victims were from the districts of Pakpattan and Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab, the spokesperson noted that the incident appeared to be an attempt by terrorist elements to disrupt interprovincial harmony.
“The Balochistan government is committed to conducting a transparent and thorough investigation. Those responsible will soon be apprehended and dealt with an iron hand,” he affirmed.
Rind reiterated the government’s determination to uphold law and order in the province, asserting that such cowardly acts would not shake the state’s resolve.
