AKF starts relief operation in AJK

Islamabad:The Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKP) has started rescue and relief operation in residential areas affected by shelling from the Indian army along the Line of Control (LoC) in AJK.

To start with the AKP has despatched medicines worth Rs10 million, 1,000 tents and 5,000 temporary shelters (tarpals) along with other relief goods have been transported to affected along the LoC in AJK, central secretary general of AKP, Syed Waqas Jaffery in a statement said.

The AKP official said that they have procured Rs100 million medicine to meet any situation while 41 emergency response centres have also be put on high alert. “We have started providing relief goods to families affected Indian forces firing in Bedo and Sher Dhara Haveli along the LoC,” he said. The AKP volunteers are providing cooked food, clothing and other relief goods to families who are sheltering in Government High School Sher Ali Khan.
