In a series of police encounters across Karachi on Wednesday, one suspected robber was killed while three others were injured and arrested.

Two accomplices managed to flee during the incidents. The first encounter occurred in the Steel Town area, where a suspect was critically wounded and later died en route to the hospital. He was identified as Akbar alias Fayaz.

Police recovered a repeater with ammunition, a mobile phone, cash, and a motorcycle from his possession. His accomplice escaped during the shootout. Officials said the suspects were involved in multiple street crimes and motorcycle thefts across the city.

In a separate incident, the Federal B Industrial Area police engaged with three suspects near Block 22 during routine patrol. When signalled to stop, the suspects fled toward a nearby riverbed and opened fire.

In the exchange, two suspects — identified as Fawad and Saeed alias Toor — were injured and arrested. Their third accomplice fled the scene. The police recovered a 30-bore pistol, a 32-bore pistol with an empty magazine, three mobile phones, and a stolen motorcycle linked to a case in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The injured suspects were shifted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Baghdadi police in Lyari encountered robbers near Ahmed Shah Bukhari Road. A shootout took place, during which an injured suspect named Bilal was apprehended. The police recovered a pistol with rounds and a motorcycle from his possession. His accomplice escaped, and a search operation was currently underway. The arrested suspect was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The police stated that investigations were ongoing and efforts were being made to track down the absconding suspects.
