A man from Shikarpur was brutally murdered in Gulshan-e-Maymar, while five others — including a mother and her son — were injured in separate firing incidents across the city on Tuesday.
The tortured body of 22-year-old Shoaib, son of Abdullah, was discovered near the Afghan Basti bridge in Gulshan-e-Maymar. SHO Abdul Ghaffar Korai stated that initial investigations suggested Shoaib had been lured to Karachi by relatives due to a personal dispute. He was then taken to a hilly area near Afghan Basti, where he was beaten and stoned to death. The suspects fled the scene before the police arrived. The police contacted Shoaib’s family in Shikarpur, who confirmed that relatives were behind the murder.
In a separate incident, three individuals — including a woman — were injured during a robbery at the Nazimabad flyover. The injured were identified as 40-year-old Salma, wife of Saleem; 20-year-old Safiullah, son of Saleemullah; and 40-year-old Zaheer, son of Ismail. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. Police said the victims were shot during resistance to the robbery and that an investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Raheem, son of Sakhi Dad, was injured in a shooting near MT Khan Road in the Docks area. According to SHO Nafeesur Rehman, Raheem returned to his home in Lyari after the incident instead of seeking immediate medical help, and was later taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). The person who reported the shooting had since gone missing, and the police were continuing inquiries.
In another case, 30-year-old Farhan, son of Mithal, was injured by a stray bullet near Lasi Goth in the Sohrab Goth area. He was also taken to the CHK. Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
