ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Party of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called on the government to immediately convene an all-party conference (APC) over the tensions with India, and all political leaders, including incarcerated party founder Imran Khan, should be invited to the conference.

Among others, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chief Whip Malik Aamir Dogar and Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza participated in the meeting, which reviewed the current political and security situation and other key matters.

According to a statement issued here, the parliamentary party expressed distrust in the country’s judicial system, maintaining that gap between the people and the judiciary is growing rapidly. “The Chief Justice of Pakistan should play his role to restore the dignity and respect of the judiciary,” it demanded.

The meeting noted that the PTI will express the aspirations of the people at every forum, including the National Assembly. It strongly condemned the Pahalgam “false flag operation” and emphasised that the Pakistani nation is responsible, brave and fearless.

It was also underlined again that the PTI is against terrorism in every region of the world while thousands of our citizens have sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism. “The Indian allegation of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam incident is a complete lie; India wants to terminate the Indus Water Treaty,” the meeting contended.

The forum made it clear that India can neither suspend nor terminate this agreement unilaterally, because its mediator is the World Bank, adding suspending the Indus Waters Treaty is in fact a declaration of war.

It was emphasised that meetings should be arranged with the founding chairman of the PTI, Imran Khan, including political leaders and his family. It strongly condemned an organised social media campaign against the members of the assembly.
