Rawalpindi: Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority Ahmed Hassan Ranjha visited PHA Gorakhpur Nursery, took a detailed review of various sections regarding the cultivation of different types of plants and seasonal flowers in the nursery.
Gorakhpur Nursery covers an area of one thousand kanals near Adiala Road in Rawalpindi, from where the supply of seasonal flowers and plants to parks and green belts of Rawalpindi is being successfully ensured. During his visit to the nursery, DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha took a detailed review of the process of cultivation of plants and flowers and also gave special instructions to the concerned staff to bring further improvements in this regard.
He said that Gorakhpur The nursery is playing a key role in keeping Rawalpindi green by producing a large number of plants. Ahmed Hassan Ranjha further said that the objectives of tree plantation in Rawalpindi city are also being met from Gorakhpur Nursery. The flowers and plants grown in this nursery play an important role in maintaining the beauty and green environment of the city.
DG PHA said that awareness is also being provided to the citizens in Gorakhpur Nursery for plant cultivation and home gardening. Gorakhpur Nursery is one of the largest nurseries in Punjab. DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said that Gorakhpur Nursery is also playing a key role in achieving the goals of the tree plantation campaign in Rawalpindi Division.
He said that the parks of Rawalpindi are being provided with plants, grass and flower beds from Gorakhpur Nursery is provided, which has made PHA self-sufficient in the availability of plants. In addition, different types of roses have been cultivated on a large scale in Gorakhpur Nursery, the process of their cultivation is going on rapidly. DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha expressed his determination that all resources will be utilized to make Rawalpindi beautiful, green and provide environment-friendly facilities.
