Three people lost their lives in separate traffic accidents in the Jackson, SITE-B and Zaman Town areas. The drivers responsible for the accidents fled the scenes.
Police seized one of the vehicles involved in the accidents. In the Keamari area, a young man was crushed to death by a trailer truck within the limits of the Jackson police station. The truck driver escaped after the accident.
The youth’s body was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where he was identified as 25-year-old Hassan, son of Umar Saeed. Upon completion of the legal formalities, police handed the body over to the family.
Efforts to trace the driver were under way, police said. In another accident on the Sher Shah Paracha flyover in the SITE-B area, a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the night between Saturday and Sunday.
The body was transferred to the Civil Hospital where the deceased man was identified as 40-year-old Kamandar, son of Mir Ali Khan. He was a resident of Baldia Town. After completing legal procedures, the body was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, in the Zaman Town area in Korangi No 5, a pedestrian was fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but remained unidentified. The victim was said to be seemingly around 25 years old. Police transferred the body to a morgue for want of identification.
