The Land Management Department of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) on Friday raised concerns over illegal occupation and construction on government land in Block-6, Scheme 36 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, urging authorities to take immediate action.

In an official letter addressed to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Karachi East in April, the department highlighted unauthorised construction activities being carried out by land grabbers in the area. According to the letter, certain unscrupulous elements were involved in illegal construction on government land without lawful authority, in violation of property and land management laws.

The Land Management Department had formally requested the Director of Estate and Enforcement of KDA, in coordination with the SSP East, to take urgent measures to stop the encroachments. It had also called for the deployment of police support to assist in the removal of encroachments and to deter further unlawful activities.

Director of Estate and Enforcement had been instructed to send a team for a detailed site inspection and to initiate removal of the illegal structures in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, the department had asked for First Information Reports (FIRs) to be registered against all individuals or groups involved and had requested a compliance report to be submitted without delay.
