Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday met with UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Alremeithi and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Kundi visited the UAE Consulate in Karachi and inaugurated the Business Visa Section at the consulate. He urged the consul general to open a consulate of his country in Peshawar. The governor was warmly received by Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Alremeithi. Kundi praised the continued support of the UAE and termed it second home for Pakistanis.
He also mentioned that there was a significant number of Pashtuns who were working in the UAE; therefore, he urged the UAE diplomat to open a consulate in Peshawar as well. The governor also mentioned about the Pakistan Mines and Minerals Conference in Islamabad, aimed at attracting investment in the sector, and urged the UAE business community to explore the minerals sector of his province.
He toured different sections of the consulate where he inaugurated the Business Visa Section of the consulate. The governor was informed by the UAE consul general that the business section would provide opportunities of mutual investment, create ease of doing business and would be helpful in strengthening the business relations between the two countries.
Moreover, Pakistani citizens are now eligible for getting a five-year visa programme that will further strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries, he added. He acknowledged the role of Pakistan in the development of the UAE and pledged continued support to the Pakistan.
