Mohsin Naqvi to brief Senate panel on PCB, PSL

Senate committee will also receive a briefing from Chairman PCB on performance of PCB during last six months

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has called Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi on May 5 (Monday) for a briefing on Pakistan Super League (PSL) performance, financials and expansion plans.

Besides, the Senate committee will also receive a briefing from the Chairman PCB on the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Board during the last six months and details of expenditure incurred on cricket stadiums at Lahore and Karachi. Chairman Senate Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Senator Rana Mehmood-Ul-Hasan will chair the meeting.

The panel will also consider the government bill titled "The Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organisation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025" introduced by Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law & Justice in the Senate on 24th January, 2025. Furthermore, the panel will receive a presentation by the administrator Abandonment Properties Organisation, on its organisational structure and functions. The Chairman Pakistan Telecommunications Authority will give a briefing on '5G services Rollout plan across Pakistan, including objectives, coverage targets and implementation frameworks; revenue projections; timeline and stakeholder input. It will also be briefed on the reasons for the delay in notifying members of the Senate as members of the Board of Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority, including ratification of the nomination of Senator Hidayatullah Khan by the committee on August 2, 2024.
