Islamabad:In a shocking incident, a young female student of the International Islamic University in Islamabad was brutally murdered in the room of her hostel in the early hours of Saturday.

Eman Feroz, a bright 22-year-old hailing from Mansehra and residing at a private girl’s hostel in Sector G-10/1, met a tragic end when an unidentified assailant, armed with a gun, infiltrated the secure premises.

According to a statement given to the police by her brother, Zaid Khan, the incident occured around 12:15 at midnight. The intruder scaled the hostel wall and remained in the courtyard for approximately an hour, an ominous prelude to the violence that would follow.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., as Eman stepped out of her room, she was confronted by the threatening figure. In a desperate attempt to retreat, she turned back, but the assailant forced his way into the room she shared with three other students.

Brandishing a pistol, the intruder silenced the young women before unleashing a fatal shot at Eman. The bullet struck her, and she collapsed, seriously wounded. The killer then fled the scene, retracing his steps over the hostel wall, leaving behind a scene of horror and devastation.

Swift action was taken by the hostel administration and fellow students, who rushed the critically injured Eman to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Despite their efforts, the young woman succumbed to her injuries.

The assailant, described as a young man of medium height, approximately 25 to 26 years old, and clad in white clothing, was reportedly seen by the other occupants of the room, who may hold crucial clues to his identity.

Responding promptly to the tragic news, law enforcement officials, arrived at the PIMS emergency ward. Their initial inspection confirmed a fatal gunshot wound on Eman's back. Following due procedure, a post-mortem examination was requested, and the young victim’s body was moved to the hospital mortuary.

Based on the preliminary findings, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to murder. The case has been assigned to Investigation Officer Abrar Hussain, who, along with his team, initiated further proceedings at PIMS in the early hours of Saturday.
