A group of miscreants attempted to attack an international fast food chain’s outlet in Korangi Industrial Area on Thursday evening. According to Korangi SSP Tariq Nawaz, police arrested 10 suspects involved in the attack and quickly brought the situation under control. A large contingent of District Korangi police rushed to the scene and managed to detain the individuals who stormed the restaurant with the intent to vandalise.
Police officials, including Korangi Industrial Area SHO Ali Niazi, Zaman Town SHO Inspector Ghulam Nabi Afridi, and Korangi SHO Inspector Adeel Afzal, were present during the operation.
SSP Nawaz praised the bravery and prompt action of his officers to prevent the situation from escalating. He confirmed that the mob had attempted to forcibly enter the premises, but timely police intervention prevented major damage.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident and commended the Korangi police for their quick and effective action. In his statement, he emphasised that those involved in disturbing law and order and attacking international establishments would be dealt with firmly.
The minister also directed that strong legal action be taken against the arrested suspects based on concrete evidence. So far, the police have arrested a total of over one and a half dozen miscreants across the city in connection with recent attacks on food chain outlets. Similar incidents have been reported in Gadap City, Defence, and Gulberg, with FIRs registered accordingly.
