Islamabad:The double murder of two women remains shrouded in mystery. However, law enforcement officials engaged in the investigation assert that the perpetrators have been identified, and they are closing in on the culprits.

Saira Ruhi filed a complaint with the Lohi Bher Police, stating that she is employed and reside in a rented portion of a house in Sawan Garden for the past two and a half years, along with her mother, younger sister Faiza and cousin Momina, a student.

She reported that the house owner lives in France and visits Pakistan annually and after living here for some time, he left for France on the first of Ramazan. His servant, Sadaqat, vacated the premises after the owner went back.

"Several days ago, I received a telephone call from the house owner, who requested that I should allow his servant to occupy the small rooftop room for a brief period. Subsequently, Sadaqat moved into the attic," Saira stated in her complaint. She added that on April 5, she departed for her beauty salon, leaving her mother and sister Faiza at home.

Upon her return in the evening with her cousin, Sadaqat informed her that her mother and sister Faiza were absent, presumably having gone to the bazaar. Shortly thereafter, he claimed that her mother had returned and was resting in the downstairs portion of the house. While she descended the stairs, he followed her. "He struck me on the head from behind with a blunt tool. I fled the house, calling my cousin’s for assistance. He escaped as neighbours came from their house."

Upon entering her residence, the complainant found the bodies of her mother in the bathroom and her sister in a room. The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 302/324 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and initiated an investigation to apprehend the accused murderer, conducting raids and gathering forensic evidence. Investigating officials stated that the relevant Station House Officers (SHOs) have been provided with the accused’s photograph and relevant information.

Analysis of the accused’s Call Detail Records (CDR) led police to identify key associates. An electrician named Naveed, the third most frequently dialled contact, is currently in custody. He is a relative of the accused, along with another close friend, Kashif and Naveed’s brother. Both Naveed and Kashif have been interrogated, yielding potential locations where Sadaqat may be hiding.

The investigating team has made significant progress in identifying a young woman ‘A’, identified as the accused’s girlfriend and most frequently dialled contact. Police revealed that she lives near Gulrez Chowki, Airport Police Station, Rawalpindi.
