Rawalpindi: On the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi has started commercial driving training for women under the supervision of lady instructors under the name of Empowered Women Programme in all driving schools managed by the City Traffic Police (CTP) for the first time in history.
According to the details, on the orders of the CTO Benish Fatima, for the convenience of women who want to learn driving to make themselves independent, commercial driving training has been started in driving schools of the City Traffic Police, so that women, like men, can also take driving as a profession.
CTO Rawalpindi said that the aim of such training for women is to provide them employment opportunities and they can earn a good living. On this occasion, a ceremony was organised at Traffic Headquarters Racecourse in which various women members of the Punjab Assembly also participated. The CTO also briefed them about this unique course and informed them about its importance. She also said that women who receive such training can better understand the challenges thhe face in society, especially with per-mile instructors, women under training can feel comfortable asking questions or expressing concerns, which will create an effective learning environment. This approach will not only be beneficial for women learning to drive but will also promote gender inclusion and autonomy in the professional sector.
Finally, the women members of the assembly expressed their views and appreciated this initiative of the CTO Rawalpindi and termed it a role model for other district.
