IIUI gets new president

Islamabad: Dr Ahmed Saad Nasser Al-Ahmed has been appointed the new permanent president of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).

The development came during the 17th online board of trustees meeting of the IIUI, with Chancellor of the university and president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari in the chair. The meeting confirmed the minutes of the 16th BoT meeting held on December 23, 2024, at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Riyadh.

A key agenda item of this meeting was the finalization of the appointment of the President of IIUI, in accordance with the resolutions of the 16th BoT meeting, which had stipulated the formation of a head-hunting committee to shortlist candidates for the position. The committee finalised three names, which were presented to the BoT by acting IIUI rector Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed. The shortlisted candidates included Dr. Ahmed Saad Nasser Al-Ahmed, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi and Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, and the BoT selected Dr. Ahmed Saad Nasser as the new IIUI president.
