Administrative problems have started arising due to the delay in the appointment of acting vice chancellors and chairmen of boards in Sindh’s universities and education boards.
The four-year tenure of the female vice chancellor of the Government College Hyderabad University, Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, reportedly ended last week, but no acting vice chancellor has been appointed in her place yet.
Similarly, the term of Sindh Board of Technical Education Chairman Muzaffar Bhutto ended on February 18, but despite the passage of a month, no acting chairman has been appointed. In addition, advertisements for the appointment of vice chancellors have not been issued in the University of Sufism and Modern Sciences, Bhit Shah, and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law.
According to the Boards and Universities Department, the name of the acting vice chancellor of the Government College University Hyderabad has been sent to the chief minister, but the summary has not been approved, while the summaries of the University of Sufism and Modern Sciences, Bhit Shah, and the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law were sent six months ago, but they have not been returned either.
That is why no advertisement has been issued for the vice-chancellor of these two universities. The Law University has been deprived of a regular vice-chancellor for two years and the Bhit Shah University for one year.
