CDA chief vows strict action against overpricing

Islamabad: A high-level meeting was held via Zoom under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to ensure the availability of essential commodities at affordable prices during the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting was attended by CDA Member Administration Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering Nafasat Raza, Member Planning, and senior officers of the district administration.

During the briefing, the Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad were updated on the pricing and supply of essential commodities at Ramadan Bazaars and designated stalls under the Ramadan Relief Package. Officials assured that ample stocks of ghee, sugar, flour, rice, and other essential items are being maintained to meet public demand. It was also highlighted that ghee is being sold at a reduced price of Rs30 per kilogram, while chicken prices have been lowered by Rs25 per kilogram. Similarly, the official price of eggs has decreased by Rs 15 per dozen in the Ramadan Bazaars.
