A young woman and a young man were found dead in separate incidents of suicide in Karachi’s Central district on Wednesday.
In the first case, 22-year-old Saba, daughter of Amir, was found hanging inside her home in New Karachi Industrial Area Sector 5-G. Her body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Citing initial investigations, SHO Ghulam Rasool said Saba took her life due to domestic issues. After completing legal formalities, police handed over the body to the family.
In another incident, the body of 24-year-old Waheedullah, son of Habibullah, was found hanging at his home near Muawiya Masjid in Bilal Colony, North Karachi Sector 7-A. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. According to SHO Farrukh Hashmi, the victim’s father informed police that he had been suffering from mental health issues for a long time. He married two years ago but had no children, while his wife worked. Police said he hanged himself using an electric wire attached to a ceiling fan. The body was later handed over to the family.
